The Red Fort or the Lal Quila as it is traditionally called is situated in old Delhi, the capital of India. The Red Fort was built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century that took around 9 years to complete this magnificent structure and around 10 million rupees to build the fort. The Red Fort is a masterpiece of architecture and is one of the most visited spot in old Delhi. Tourists from India and abroad never miss the opportunity to visit this huge structure.
Connaught Place, a shopping arena from the 20th century, is designed in Victorian style and modeled on the Royal Crescent in Bath, England. Located in the heart of the national capital, it is perhaps one of the most well planned markets in the country with a circular layout, an inner and outer circus. Built during British rule, legend has it that the market was designed in a horseshoe shape so that it would prove lucky for both shoppers and shopkeepers. Even after more than 75 years of its birth, CP (as it is locally known) continues to lure shoppers from all over the country and abroad.
A visit to India is incomplete without a visit to the Taj Mahal - the most glorious tour icon of India. See and know India's past glory through Taj Mahal Agra, situated on the Golden Triangle Route of India. Established by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in the memory of his beloved mistress Mumtaz Mahal, Taj Mahal is the most extraordinarily built largest mausoleum in the world. Built extensively in white marble Taj Mahal is the most glowing multi hued historical marvel on the Earth.
India Gate : Being a war commemoration built to remember 80,000 soldiers who died during the 1st world war, the prodigious India Gate offers much more than that, a promise of diversion, to every tourists. Located in New Delhi, this 42 meter high this gate shaped monument was designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens. With the lying of the foundation stone by the Duke of Connaught in February 1921, it only got completed after a decade in 1931.
The Jim Corbett National Park is a heaven for the adventure seekers and wildlife adventure lovers alike. Corbett National Park is India's first national park which comprises 520.8 km2. area of hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions, grass lands and large lake. The elevation ranges from 1,300 feet (400 m) to 4,000 feet (1,200 m). Winter nights in Corbett national park are cold but the days are bright and sunny. It rains from July to September.
