In Memoriam: Professor John R. McIntyre

It is with profound sorrow that the MESD Association announces the passing of Professor John R. McIntyre on March 23, 2026.

Professor McIntyre, of the Scheller College of Business at the Georgia Institute of Technology, was a distinguished scholar in international management and a steadfast advocate for global academic cooperation. Over the course of his career, he made outstanding contributions to the study of international business, public policy, and sustainable development.

As a co-founder, Vice President, and key inspirer of the Multinational Enterprises and Sustainable Development (MESD) Association, as well as of its international conference, Professor McIntyre played a pivotal role in shaping and advancing a unique global platform. Through his vision and leadership, MESD has brought together scholars, practitioners, and policymakers from around the world to engage in meaningful dialogue on the role of multinational enterprises in fostering sustainable development.

Professor McIntyre maintained a deep and enduring connection to France, his country of origin, and cultivated strong and lasting partnerships with MESD Association. His commitment to building bridges between institutions and across nations remains at the core of the MESD mission.

A respected scholar, prolific author, and visionary builder of international initiatives, Professor McIntyre was equally recognized for his intellectual generosity, integrity, and dedication to others. His legacy lives on through the many projects, collaborations, and academic communities he helped create and inspire.

We owe him a great deal and will always be grateful for his generosity, dedication, and friendship.

His passing represents a profound loss for the MESD Association, for the international academic community, and for all those who had the privilege of working with him.

The MESD Association extends its deepest condolences to his family, his colleagues at Georgia Tech, and to all those whose lives he touched.

Professor McIntyre's legacy will continue to guide and inspire the MESD community in the years to come.

On behalf of the MESD Association,

Silvester Ivanaj and Vera Ivanaj
