Georgia Tech-Lorraine (GTL) was established as Georgia Tech's first international campus in 1990 in Metz, France, a city recently named by the New York Times as one of the top 44 places to see in the world. Centrally located in eastern France along the Luxembourg and German borders, GTL is less than 90 minutes by train from Paris.

Its position close to the train station and in the city centre makes the Palais des Congrès Nancy an ideal point of access to the Greater Nancy area. A few minutes' walk from the Palais des Congrès takes you to the Place Stanislas, a jewel of 18th-century architecture, listed in the UNESCO World Heritage, and point of convergence of what's happening on in the city.

Considered the most beautiful royal square in Europe and high point of Nancy's outstanding collection of 18th Century monuments, on UNESCO's World Heritage List, the city of Nancy is known all over the world thanks to Place Stanislas. A magnificent example of Classical French architecture built by Emmanuel Héré, it is surrounded by the wrought-iron worker Jean Lamour's finely worked railings with gold highlights.
